why i hate cis people
Reblogged from hellokittyleatherdaddy-deactiva
You’ve opened with a nonsensical Venn diagram. That’s not a good start. It makes it look like your hate switch is always set to “On”.
Oh god. There’s more.
Every trans person I know has had problems with suicide, and many of us have contemplated suicide TODAY. And it’s not only because being trans is painful in itself (body dysphoria, etc), it’s because we have to live beneath cis people every day.
No one’s living beneath me. I checked. Lots of groups are at high risk for suicide, including trans people. So I should hope we’re all working to combat that.
We don’t have healthcare that knows how to treat trans people, maybe we don’t have healthcare AT ALL, we don’t have homes, we don’t have employment, we are misgendered every day, we don’t see ourselves represented anywhere, cis people think of us as nonhuman, cis people laugh at us, cis people incarcerate us, cis people murder our women.
OK. Again, the healthcare system sucks for pretty much everyone, at least in the US. I’d like to see a system of universal healthcare that would cover all people of all genders, but apparently that makes me a communist. I have no idea what you mean as “misgendered”, but if you’re going to switch genders, as is you’re right, it’s reasonable to expect a certain degree of confusion from the normals.
Also, and I know I’m just speaking for myself here, but I’ve never incarcerated anyone or murdered your “women”. I have a strong suspicion that this is not a threat faced from the majority of people like me.
Cis people. The problem is cis people. The problem is white people, the problem is capitalism and globalization and poverty, the problem is patriarchy, the problem is the denial of our right to have communities.
Whoa! Slow down there, cowboy. One prejudice at a time, please. No one’s denying your right to have communities. Was there ever a community of trans people broken up by the authorities? I’d like to see a link to a single case of that happening.
You don’t belong in our spaces and we don’t want you in our spaces, but you think you deserve to be there. You think you have an opinion, and that you have the right to argue it, but you don’t. You are a three-year-old. You know as much as a three-year-old knows. You have as much weight in our conversations as a three year old has.
You know, it’s hard to push the line that our communities should communicate with each other when I see posts like this that are determined to refuse to engage with anyone, ever. If you’re going to spend lots of time and energy locking yourself out, you can’t complain when you’re spending all your time looking in the window wondering what’s going on inside.
I’ll tell you what’s going on. We’re playing Settlers of Catan, and it’s fun.
Want to play?
“No! Fuck off! Stop invading our spaces! You have no right to an opinion!”
Dude, it’s just Settlers of Catan…
“DIE CIS SCUM!”
You say you’re one of the good ones. If you were one of the good ones you wouldn’t shove that in our faces, you’d understand why we are angry and you’d shut up.
I’m not one of the good ones. I’m not one of the anything. I have no desire to have any label stuck to me, and to be honest I don’t get the missionary zeal with which you’re prepared to invent labels for yourself and then insist everyone else refer to you by those made-up labels, like a teenager who now insists everyone refer to him as “J. Dog”.
You’re entitled to refer to yourself as anything you like. You’re even entitled to call people like me “cis”, if you like. You’re also entitled to hate me personally for no reason, if you feel it’s important to you. I would hate to take that away from you. But don’t act surprised when no one else feels like rolling along with what you think they should do and feel and how they should act.
I get why being treated like crap would make you angry, but the solution is in MORE communication, MORE engagement between communities, not spreading hate and vicious lies.
